Average flow
The average flow is the total voided volume divided by the flow time. The
average flow rate is only meaningful if flow is continuous and without terminal
dribbling. It is calculated as voided volume divided by the flow time.
Calculated: Average flow rate = -------------------------- = --------------------
When Flow markers are present, the average flow rate is calculated between
the first and last flow marker.
Corrected Qmax
The corrected Qmax is the square root of the voiding volume.
Calculated: Corrected Qmax = (voided volume)
Residual urine
The residual volume is the volume of urine left in the bladder after micturition.
This parameter can be entered after the investigation.
Miction Index
The Miction Index (MI) is calculated as Voided Volume (ml) divided by
micturition time (s) (Flowtime).
Calculated: Miction index =
When one of the parameters is unknown or when the Flow time is zero, then
the Miction Index parameter will be reported as "-".
A Miction Index < 10 is considered pathologic.
A Miction Index > 10 is considered healthy.
The advantage of this method is that it is non-invasive.
