Cause
Incorrect wavelength setting
Lamp not on or defective
Integrator input and output voltage not
matching
Insufficient sample reaching the detector Check the entire chromatographic system for
Excessive rise time
Poor connection at flow cell inlet
Tripped circuit breaker at power outlet
Blown detector fuse
Incorrect voltage selected
Power cord not connected
Detector not receiving Start signal
Lost connection to the data system
computer
An error occurred during a run
Both lamps are off
Remedy
Check the wavelength setting. Make sure the
correct file is selected.
Make sure the lamp is lit. Run the detector
diagnostic tests to check the lamp. Replace the
lamp if necessary. See
"Lamp Maintenance"
page

Verify that the integrator is connected to the
appropriate analog output connections on the
detector's back panel. See

page
Check the attenuation setting on the integrator.
leaks. Check the sample injection volume.
Lower the rise time selection.
Check the end of the inlet tubing for a clean, flat
surface free of obstructions.
Reset the circuit breaker.
Replace the fuse. See
"Replacing the Fuses"
page
55.
Verify that the voltage selector is set for the
correct incoming line voltage. See
Power Setting and Fuses"
Connect the power cord.
Check the connection to the Run contacts on the
back panel of the detector.
Check the Ethernet connection to the data
system computer.
Check the software to determine the nature of
the error, or begin the run again.
Turn on the lamps and allow 1.5 hours for
warm-up.
