Checking of the Vertical Position
After swivelling always check the vertical position of
the head.
• Clamp a testing bar in the vertical spindle and
check it with a dial gauge.
Should the position of the milling head deviate
from the vertical position, repeat the
sequence described in the preceding paragraph.
In case the vertical position cannot be reached
during this process, the position of the fixing pin
must be corrected.
Adjusting of the Fixing Pin
Should the position of the fixing pin, which is adjusted
at our works, be off, it needs to be corrected. The
fixing pin is mounted excentrically and can thus be
adjusted.
• Loosen the 8 screws [2] (key 19) at the flange of
the vertical milling head.
• Loosen the fixing screw [3] (allen key 3) of the
fixing pin.
• Turn the excentric bearing of the fixing pin at the
hexagon [4] (key 27) until the position
of the milling head is correct.
• The fixing screw [3] needs to be tightend very
sensitively.
• Swivel the head clockwise approx. 10° beyond
the vertical position.
• Push the fixing pin [1] all the way in.
• Swivel the head carefully back to vertical position
until the fixing pin touches the mating
surface.
• Tighten the 8 screws [2] of the vertical head.
• Pull the fixing pin [1] out again up to the stop.
• Check the new positioning with a test bar and a
dial gauge.
