    1.7 Installation of the Centrifuge 1.7.1 Unpacking the Centrifuge Model ZK 496 is supplied in a carton on a wooden pallet. Remove the strap retainer and open the carton. Remove the metal bars which are fixed onto the pallet to secure the centrifuge.

    Hold the rotor with one hand and secure the rotor to the shaft by turning the fixing nut clockwise. Tighten the fixing nut with the provided Allen key (see Figure 13).     The bolts of the rotor must be greased with the HERMLE Rotorgrease (Order No. 38-5656). The sample tubes have to be filled evenly by eye and set into the drillings or tube racks. The weight difference of the loaded buckets should not exceed 1.0 g.

    Figure 32 2.8 Interface to the Computer The ZK 496 is equipped with an USB-interface. It is located at the backside of the centrifuge. This allows you to connect your centrifuge to a computer or laptop. Our software H-Control enables a comfortable operation, storing data or creating graphs.

ATTENTION: Autoclaving, mechanical stresses and contamination, by chemicals or other aggressive solvents can impair the aerosol-tightness of the rotors and buckets.
