Installation
Install the rear brake master cylinder in the reverse order
of removal. Pay attention to the following points:
• Connect the reservoir hose to the master cylinder.
• Install the master cylinder cover (1) and tighten the
master cylinder mounting bolts (2) to the specified
torque.
Tightening torque
Rear brake master cylinder mounting bolt (a): 10
N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 lb-ft)

• Adjust the rear brake height. Refer to "Brake System
Inspection in Section 0B (Page 0B-18)".
• Tighten the lock-nut (3) to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Rear brake master cylinder rod lock-nut (b): 18
N·m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 lb-ft)

Brake Control System and Diagnosis:
• Tighten the footrest bracket bolts (4) to the specified
torque.
Tightening torque
Front footrest bracket bolt (c): 85 N·m (8.5 kgf-m,
61.5 lb-ft)
• Connect the rear brake light switch (5).
• Tighten the brake hose union bolt (6) to the specified
torque.
CAUTION
!

The seal washers should be replaced with the
new ones to prevent fluid leakage.
Tightening torque
Brake hose union bolt (d): 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5
lb-ft)

• Bleed air from the system after reassembling the
master cylinder. Refer to "Air Bleeding from Brake
Fluid Circuit (Page 4A-5)".
