Replacing the Water-Separator Filter

Service Interval: Every 400 hours
1.
Fully drain the fuel-water separator; refer to
Water from the Fuel-Water Separator (page

Clean the filter head and filter canister

Remove the filter canister, and clean the mounting
surface of the filter head.
4.
Lubricate the gasket on the filter canister with clean
fuel.
5.
Install the filter canister by hand until the gasket
contacts the mounting surface, then rotate it an
additional 1/2 turn.
6.
Tighten the drain valve at the bottom of the filter
canister.
7.
Start the engine and check for leaks.
Note:
Repair all leaks.
8.
Shut off the engine and remove the key.
9.
Close and latch the hood;

Replacing the Engine Fuel Filter

Service Interval: Every 400 hours—Replace the engine
fuel filter.
