How to Set the Clock Characteristics

HP 81200 Data Generator/Analyzer Platform User Guide, Revision 2.1
How to Set the Clock
Characteristics
The clock characteristics are defined by:
• Clock source
• Clock rate
• Clock delay
• Clock frequency multiplier (external clocks only)
1 Open the Parameter Editor for the master clock module (see "How to
Start the Parameter Editor for Global Parameters" on page 85).
The Clock Reference window appears.

How to Choose the Clock Source

If you wish to use an external clock, this signal has to be connected to the
CLOCK / REF INPUT of the central clock module. The external clock can
be used as a reference (an input to the built-in PLL-controlled oscillator) or
directly.

1 If your system comprises more than one mainframe, ensure that you
have chosen the master clock module—check the Master indicator.
This setting cannot be changed from the user interface. Slaves are
identified by jumpers inside the modules.
