If one diskette drive fails , replace that drive .

I f every Sf' diskette drive fails , perform the check on
sf' diskette internal wiring .
the wiring is faulty, return the processor unit to IBM for repair .

CRT CONTROLLER TEST - - TEST 1 6
Test 1 6 checks the vert ica l , horizonta l , and video s ignals o f the CRT
contro l ler .
It requires the attachment of the wrap cable labeled TEST
16 to the Parallel PPU port and the CRT output connector on the processor
unit back plate .
Subtest 1
checks the vertical sync s igna l .
Subtest 2
checks the horizont a l sync signa l .
Subtest 3
checks the video output s ignal .
S ince Test 16 replaces the CRT with a wrap cab l e , a keyboard is necessary
to control the tes t , a printer is needed , and the printer control has to
be set to On Line .
To cal l for and per form the CRT Contro l ler test using the printer in p l ace
of the CRT:
Reset the IBM 9 001 by switching the computer to OFF and back to ON .

TEST 16 CABLE . "
When the subtest is cal led for , the printer echoes the entry .
the subtest passes , the printer outputs "EXEClITE . "
