SENSOR 1 /0 PROBLEMS
If an analog peripheral device is mal functioning, the fault may be in the
device in the IBM 9 001 sensor I / O board or in the interconnecting cables .
Since analog peripheral devices connected to the IBM 9001 may or may not
be products of IBM Instruments, I nc . , this approach is suggested for fault
isolation :
1 .
Perform fault isolation procedures suggested by the manufacturer of
the per ipheral device .
2 .
Verify the presence of the ana l og inputs to the system .
I f Step 1 or 2 does not isolate the fault , perform the opt ional check

to isolate problems on the sensor I/O board.

to verify that no faults on other feature boards are affecting the
operation of the sensor I / O board .

I f the fault has not been isolated after comp let ion of
these checks, then return to Step 4 .

the optional check of the run/ready and analog break-out boxes .

I f a digital peripheral device is mal funct ioning, the fault may be in the
device, in the processor unit, or in the interconnecting cab les .
