AUX I L I A R Y 1 /0 PORT CHECKS
The auxil iary I/O port checks locates a fault on the planar board circuits
associated with the I / O port being tested .
tests for serial ports 00 though 02 and the Paral l e l PPU port .
b les suppl ied with the IBM 9 001 are required for these tests .

Test lE checks serial port 00 with serial port 02 .

These tests require the attachment o f the wrap cable labeled TEST lD IE
Test data put through port 00 is routed to or from port 02 by the

A failed test indicates a malfunction in port 00 and/or port
wrap cable .

In either cas e , the planar board should be replaced .
To conduct these tests :
1 .
Connect the TEST 1D 1 E lF wrap cab l e to ports 00 and 02 on the
processor unit back plate .

After you receive the "CONNECT SERIAL WRAP CABLE TO PORTS 0
message, press the F l O key o r EXEC softkey .

Observe whether the test is passed (OK) or FAILED . I f the test fails ,
replace the p lanar board .
