SAFETY PRACTICES
A l l service representatives are expected to take every safety precaution
possible while maintaining IBM Instruments Inc . equipment .
fol lowing s afety practices at all times:
Never work alone under hazardous conditions or around equipment with
dangerous voltage .
Disconnect the inst rument l ine cord from the outlet when:
Removing or ass embling maj or components
Working in the immediate area of power supplies
Performing mechancial inspections o f power supp l ies
Install ing changes in inst rument circuitry
When it is absolutely necessary to work on equipment having exposed op­
erating mechanical parts or exposed live e l ectrical circuitry anyhwere
in the instrument , the following precautions must be followed :
