5.3.2. Option 2

One Digital Gateway in the network is configured as NTP Server (Time Sync mode = RTC). In
this case the date and time for this Digital Gateway must be set through the web interface of
Digital Gateway. All other Digital Gateway are configured as NTP Client (Time Sync mode =
NTP) and their internal clock is synchronized by the NTP Server Digital Gateway.
In case of a power down the Digital Gateway buffers the system time (RTC) for
about 3 hours. Afterwards its internal clock is reset to 2009-01-01.
This time synchronization method is less accurate than Option 1 since one Digital
Gateway internal clock is used as time reference and not a high accurate GPS syn-
chronized Time Server.
