Networking applications

This chapter describes networking applications of the Gazelle S1000i-LI, including the
following sections:

5.1 Rail transportation ISCS

Integrated Supervisory Control System (ISCS) is a powerful, open, modular, extended, and
distributed control system. ISCS integrates and interconnects multiple sub-systems, such as,
Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), Building Automation System (BAS),
Fire Alarm System (FAS), Platform Screen Door System (PSDS), and Automatic Fare
Collection System (AFCS). Rail transportation ISCS implements transportation information
communication and resource sharing, and enhances the automatic level, security, reliability,
and responsiveness.
ISCS has the following two levels:
The Gazelle S3028i provides redundant guarantee for routers on the whole system through
the VRRP protocol. The Gazelle S1000i-LI is adopted to establish the redundant network and
provide redundant channel for service transmission, thus enhancing network reliability. When
the working device fails, the backup device can take charge of the data forwarding and
provide transparent switching for users. In this case, the network service quality is greatly
enhanced.
Figure 5-1 shows the networking application of rail transportation ISCS by using the Gazelle
S1000i-LI.

Intelligent video monitoring and recording networking for expressway vehicles
Level 1: the centralized ISCS. It is located in the control center of the subway line and
adopts the 100/1000 Mbit/s double-star redundant Ethernet.
Level 2: the station-level ISCS, including the station, vehicle depot, and parking lot. It
adopts the 100/1000 Mbit/s double-star redundant Ethernet.
