Memory Support and Installation
Warning! Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules to prevent any
possible damage. Check the Supermicro website for recommended memory modules.
Memory Support
The X11DPT-PS supports up to 2 TB of 3DS LRDIMM/RDIMM/NVDIMM DDR4 (288-pin)
ECC 2666/2400/2133 MHz modules in sixteen (16) slots at up to 128GB at 1.2V. Populating
these DIMM modules with a pair of memory modules of the same type and size will result in
interleaved memory, which will improve memory performance.
Notes:
1. Be sure to use the memory modules of the same type and speed on the motherboard.
Mixing of memory modules of different types and speeds is not allowed.
2. When installing memory modules, be sure to populate the first DIMM module on the blue
memory slot, which is the first memory slot of a memory channel, and then populate the
second DIMM in the black slot if 2DPC memory configuration is used.
3. Using unbalanced memory topology by populating two DIMMs in one channel while
populating one DIMM in another channel will result in reduced memory performance.
4. Memory speed is dependent on the type of processors used in your system.
DIMM Module Population Sequence
When installing memory modules, the DIMM slots must be populated in the following order:
P1-DIMMA1, P1-DIMMB1, P1-DIMMC1, P1-DIMMD1, P1-DIMME1, P1-DIMMF1 then P1-
DIMMA2, P1-DIMMD2. The blue slots must be populated first.

General Population Requirements
DIMM Mixing Rules
All DIMMs must be all DDR4 DIMMs.
X4 and X8 DIMMs can be mixed in the same channel.
Mixing of LRDIMMs and RDIMMs is not allowed in the same channel, across different channels,
and across different sockets.
Mixing of non-3DS and 3DS LRDIMM is not allowed in the same channel, across different chan-
nels, and across different sockets.
