If your system is not already fully integrated with processors, system memory etc., refer to Chapter 4 for details on installing those specific components.

The inner rails are pre-attached to the chassis, and do not interfere with normal use of the chassis if you decide not to use a server rack.

    SuperServer 6029P-WTR User's Manual PCI Expansion Card Installation The system includes two pre-installed riser cards: RSC-R2UW-4E8, which supports four full- height, half-length PCI-E x8 cards, and RSC-R2UW-2E8R, which supports two low-profile PCI-E x8 cards. Riser cards position the expansion cards at a 90 degree angle, allowing them to fit inside the 2U chassis.

    Chapter 3: Maintenance and Component Installation System Cooling Three 8-cm fans provide the cooling for the system. It is very important that the chassis top cover is installed for the cooling air to circulate properly through the chassis and cool the components.

    The Power Fail LED will illuminate and remain on until the failed unit has been replaced. Replacement units can be ordered directly from Supermicro. The hot-swap capability of the power supply modules allows you to replace the failed module without having to power down the system.

The BIOS is stored on a chip and can be easily upgraded using a flash program. Note: Due to periodic changes to the BIOS, some settings may have been added or deleted and might not yet be recorded in this manual.

    Chapter 6: UEFI BIOS 6.3 Advanced Setup Configurations Use the arrow keys to select Boot Setup and press <Enter> to access the submenu items. Warning: Take caution when changing the Advanced settings. An incorrect value, a very high DRAM frequency, or an incorrect DRAM timing setting may make the system unstable. When this occurs, revert to the default to the manufacture default settings.

Select 4 Seconds Override for the user to power off the system after pressing and holding the power button for 4 seconds or longer. Select Instant Off to instantly power off the system as soon as the user presses the power button.
