Power Down Mode
3.1.1. Sleep Mode
DRX of the module is able to reduce the current consumption to a minimum value during the sleep mode,
and DRX cycle index values are broadcasted by the wireless network. The figure below shows the
relationship between the DRX run time and the current consumption in sleep mode. The longer the DRX
cycle is, the lower the current consumption will be.

Details
Software is active. The module has registered on the network, and it
Idle
is ready to send and receive data.
Network is connected. In this mode, the power consumption is
Talk/Data
determined by network setting and data transfer rate.
AT+CFUN=0 command sets the module to a minimum functionality mode without
removing the power supply. In this mode, both RF function and (U)SIM card are
invalid.
AT+CFUN=4 command or driving W_DISABLE1# pin LOW will set the module to
airplane mode. In this mode, the RF function is invalid.
The module keeps receiving paging messages, SMS, voice calls and TCP/UDP
data from the network with its current consumption reducing to the minimal level.
In this mode, the power management unit shuts down the power supply. Software
is inactive, all application interfaces are inaccessible, and the operating voltage
(connected to VCC) remains applied.
