Mechanism
It is important to lubricate the tailgate hinges and the
locking mechanism with multipurpose grease as per
the lubricating schedule (see Figure 11-7).
Also, check the welding around hinges. The proper
working order of the following components is also to
be checked:
 Tailgate hydraulic cylinders
Cylinder pins
Tailgate hinges and pins
Wear on the locking mechanism
Wear on the tailgate safety pins
Tailgate rubber seals
CAUTION!
Excessive wear might be dangerous and
harmful to the proper working order of
the tailgate.
