Sterilization of the handpiece and the cleaning needles

Refer to standards and validated cycles
The accessories should be bagged in a sterilization pouch that is validated for use in a 132ºC pre-vacuum steam sterilization cycle.
The sterilization pouch should be sealed according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Sterilization

Hu-Friedy & EMS recommend sterilization in a fractional pre vacuum cycle at 132°C for 4 min and a drying time of minimum 20 min. Hu-Friedy & EMS
recommend use of sterilization pouches, biological indicators and chemical indicators that are legally marketed and have been validated for use in a 132ºC
4 minutes pre-vacuum steam sterilization cycle.
Do not exceed the maximum number of sterilization cycles (more information in the technical data section of this manual).
The instrument may never be heated up >138°C.
Reprocessing procedures have only limited implications to a medical instrument. The limitation of the numbers of reprocessing procedures is therefore
determined by the function / wear of the device.
The reprocessing must be carried out immediately, no later than 30 minutes after the completion of the operation. Additional information, where necessary,
is provided in the respective product-specific usage instructions.
In case of damage the device should be reprocessed before sending back to the manufacturer for repair.
