Vehicles with Electromechanical Steering Gear
– Remove the steering gear bolts -9 and 10-.
Continuation for All Vehicles
– Place the Engine and Gearbox Jack - VAS6931- -1- under the
subframe.
– Remove the bolts -5 and 6- and lower the subframe using the
Engine and Gearbox Jack - VAS6931- .
– Secure the steering gear on the body.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
– If applicable, always make sure the intermediate plate -1- is
inserted between the subframe -2- and the body.
Insert the long side of the intermediate plate -1- so that it is per‐
pendicular to the direction of travel. The tabs -arrows- must lock
into the subframe -2-.
