4. Place the system backplane on an appropriate ESD surface.
Replacing the system backplane in the 9080-M9S system control unit
To replace the system backplane, complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Remove the new system backplane from its packaging.
3. Support the bottom of the system backplane as you slide the backplane into the rear of the chassis as
shown in the following figure.

4. At the rear of the system control unit, use a T15 Torx screwdriver to tighten the two captive screws (A)
as shown in the previous figure.
