5. Lightly pull on the service processor cable from both attachment points to ensure it is locked into
place. Pull the cable connector; do not pull on the wire. The cables should be firmly attached to the
system.
6. Secure the cable to the side of the rack with the hook-and-loop fastener.
Preparing the 9080-M9S system for operation after removing and replacing a service
processor (FSP) cable
To prepare the system for operation after removing or replacing a service processor (FSP) cable,
complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. If you chose to complete this repair with the power off, using your labels, reconnect the UPIC cables to
the system control unit.
UPIC cable locations are P1-C1-T1 and P1-C2-T1.
a. Ensure that the white plastic lock is pulled back from the plug housing.
b. Plug the UPIC cable (A) into the previously identified location in the system control unit by inserting
the cable into the connector until it locks into place.
