10. TROUBLE SHOOTING

When the engine cannot be started:
Is there fuel in the tank?
Are the engine switch and fuel
tap ON?
Is the fuel cap vent lever ON?
Does the choke knob pull out?
Is there enough oil in the engine?
Is the spark plug in
good condition?
Is the fuel in the
carburetor good?
Is the spark plug in good
condition?

Refill the fuel tank
Turn the two switches on
Turn the fuel cap vent lever on
Pull out the choke knob
completely
Add the recommended oil
Clean, readjust gap and dry the
spark plug. Replace it if necessary
Turn anti-clock wise drain screw
on the bottom of the carburetor to
drain out the bad fuel in the
carburetor
Engine starts, and then shuts down:
Is the fuel level low?
Is fuel cap vent lever closed?
Is engine oil level in correct?
Is the fuel in the fuel
Tank contaminated?
Contact with an authorized dealer
Engine starts, then runs rough:
Is the choke stuck or left on?
Is the air cleaner dirty or clogged?
Is the spark plug defective or
dirty?
Contact with an authorized dealer
Add fuel to tank
Open fuel cap vent lever
Check engine oil level, add or
drain as needed
Replace fuel in the fuel tank,
Clean the fuel filter
Turn choke to run position
Clean or replace the air filter
element
Replace or clean spark plug
