Overview of DME Wipes

When the HKDS-7061 Video Modifier Board and the HKDS-7071 Digital
Multi Effects Board are installed in the switcher, it is possible to carry out
transitions using the DME effects. This function is called "DME Wipe (DME
LINK™)."
This section describes the settings related to DME wipes, and the procedures
for executing transitions.
Using the internal/external DME
To use the DME wipe function, the HKDS-7061 and HKDS-7071 must be

installed in the switcher. To use an external DME, a setting in Setup menu is
required. (See page 9-12.)
Types of DME wipe
It is possible to select the DME wipe pattern when the WIPE button in the
Flexi Pad™ block is lit red, by entering the pattern number from the numeric
keypad.
Note
It is not possible to use wipe snapshot recall buttons in the Flexi Pad to recall

DME wipes.

The patterns are displayed on the screen divided into the following groups.
The following descriptions apply when the wipe direction is "Normal" (i.e.
forward).
For details of the patterns in each group and impressions of the wipes, see
"DME Wipe Patterns" on page A-3.
Slide: The new video slides in over the old video.
Split: The old video splits, and the new video appears in the gap.
Squeeze: The new video appears squeezed over the old video, and
Door: The new video moves like a door closing, and progressively covers the
