Basic Operations for DME Wipes

A DME wipe can only be used to execute either a background transition or a
key transition.
Carrying out a DME wipe
The basic procedure for a background transition or key transition is the same.
1
With the buttons in the next transition selection section, select the next
transition.
• For a background transition: BKGD button
• To insert or remove key 1: KEY 1 button
Note
Be sure to select exactly one button.
2
Depending on the selection in step 1, prepare the new video to be used
after the transition.
• For a background transition: select the new video on the PST bus
buttons.
• For a key insertion: if required, select the key type, key fill, and key
source, and make key modifier settings.
For a key removal no operation is required.
3
In the transition type selection section, press the DME button, turning it
on.
The WIPE button in the Flexi Pad block lights red, and the wipe setting
block is delegated to DME wipe operation.
Note
When the PROC KEY button is already lit, if you press the DME button
in the transition type selection section it may not light (the DME wipe
cannot be used).
For details, see the section below "Relationship Between DME Wipe and
