Bus fixed mode and bus flip-flop mode
The default operating mode for the switcher is "bus flip-flop mode," in which
a PGM/PST background transition always proceeds from the signal selected
on the PGM bus to that selected on the PST bus, and at the end of the
transition the signal selections on the two background buses flip-flop. This
means that except during a transition it is always the PGM bus which feeds
the output.
The HDS-7100 can also, however, operate in "bus fixed mode." This treats
the PGM and PST buses equally: a transition may go from PGM to PST, or
back from PST to PGM, and there is no automatic flip-flop. In this case the
fader lever position also has a fixed relation to the output: 100% PGM bus
signal when it is at the top, and 100% PST bus signal at the bottom position.
To select the bus flip-flop mode or bus fixed mode, set the TOGGLE item in
Setup menu (page 9-4): "ON" for bus flip-flop mode and "OFF" for bus
fixed mode.
