4 Transition execution section
CUT button: Pressing this button
executes an instantaneous cut.
AUTO TRANS (transition) button:
Pressing this button makes the
transition automatically at the current
rate set for auto transitions (see page
4-4).
Pressing this button again pauses the
transition, and pressing it one more
time resumes the transition.
When an auto transition is in progress
or has been paused with this button, it
is also possible to complete the
transition by using the CUT button or
fader lever.
This button normally lights amber, but
if an auto transition has been paused
while in progress it lights green.
Fader lever: It is possible to control the
progress of a transition manually by
moving this lever.
• If with the fader lever in an
intermediate position you press the
AUTO TRANS button, the
transition completes in auto
transition mode. In this case, the
duration of the auto transition is
proportional to the remaining travel
of the fader lever: if the transition
rate is 100 frames, and the fader
lever has already moved through an
amount corresponding to 25 frames,
the remaining auto transition lasts
75 frames.
• If with the fader lever in an
intermediate position you press the
CUT button, the transition
completes.
• If after starting an auto transition,
you move the fader lever to the
position corresponding to the
current transition state, the auto
transition control is released, and the
fader lever controls the transition.
Transition indicators: The LEDs
indicate the progress state of the
transition.
5 Downstream keyer (DSK) control
section
FADE TO BLACK button: Pressing this
button fades the video to black, at the
rate set for the fade-to-black
transition. Press the button once more
to fade back from black.
DSK PVW (downstream key preview)
button: When this button is in the ON
state, the switcher preview (PVW)
output is the video after the
downstream keyer transition. When
this button is in the OFF state, the
switcher preview (PVW) output is the
video after the background, key 1
transition (the PGM/PST preview
video).
Stopping the downstream key
Note:
mix transition on the way and
operating the DSK PVW button will
affect the PGM output.
DSK (downstream key) ON button: This
button inserts or removes the
downstream key instantaneously.
When it is reaching the final output,
this button lights red.
DSK (downstream key) MIX button:
This button mixes the downstream key
at the transition rate set for the
downstream keyer.
