7.2.1.

BATTERY REMOVAL

TORQUE WRENCH SETTINGS
Screw (2)
NOTE When the battery is removed, the digital clock will be
reset to zero. See clock setting instructions at paragraph
2.3.1.
Lift the fuel tank; see
Disconnect the negative lead (–) and the positive lead
(+) in the order.
Remove the battery breather tube (1).
Release and remove the screw (2).
Move aside the coolant expansion reservoir (3).
Take the battery out its mount. Place the battery on a
level surface, in a cool, dry place.
WARNING
On refitting, pay particular attention to the
breather tube. Make sure to connect the
positive (+) lead first, then the negative (-) lead.
If needed, release and remove the screw (4) and
remove the battery box mount.
