Controls
The Ribbon Position Lever has four positions
permitting
the ribbon to be positioned so that
either the
bottom
(red)
,
middle (red-black), or top (black) section
of the
ribbon
is
used. The fourth position (extreme
right)
is used
for stencil
operation.
Periodic
repositioning
of
this lever
extends the
life of the ribbon.
The Ribbon Reverse Lever
allows the
direction
of the
ribbon to
be
manually reversed. The
ribbon automatically
reverses when either
end
of the ribbon
is reached.
The Ribbon Change Lever is used
in
changing ribbons.
Moving this lever to the extreme right lifts the ribbon
guides and permits easy removal of the
ribbon cartridge.
The Print-Element Release Lever is used
to remove or
ex-
change print elements.
The Impression Control Lever controls
the striking force
of
the print element. Stencils require light impression
;
multiple copies require heavy impression. To
change the
setting, push the lever to the right and slide
it to the
desired number.
Settings
1
through 5 vary
the impression
from light to heavy respectively. For most
routine
typing,
a setting
of
3
is
satisfactory.
