Holding new roll of graph paper so that key slot is
pointing upward, place roll against left rear idler
spool (C) and force spool to
left.
5.
Lower paper roll into paper well and slide right end
onto drive spool (D).
6.
Verify
that
drive
key engages key slot in roll of
graph paper.
7.
Install paper roll core (E) on take-up spools below
drum in same manner as the roll of graph paper.
8.
Pull
short length of paper from roll, slide end under
carriage rods (F), tearbar (G),
an
d behind
take-up
spool (H).
9.
Fasten
paper
to take-up spool with two or three short
pieces
of cellophane tape.
10.
Wind
one or two turns of
paper
onto take-up spool,
while making certain that
drum
sprockets (I) are
properly
meshed with sprocket holes on
both
sides
of paper.
11.
Reinstall pen
assembly (1)
using
reverse procedure
outlined in step. 2. Note that pen is
down when
power is off. Therefore, pen should
be
installed with
carriage not in
plotting
area.
12.
Turn power switch to
ON.
If pen
does
not raise
when power is turned on, turn pen switch to
DOWN
,
then to UP.
INSTALLING
A SHEET OF GRAPH PAPER
1.
Turn power and chart
drive
switches to
OFF.
2.
Loosen knurled knob at
bottom
of
pen
holder and
lift
pen
assembly out of carriage (A). Use care when
handling
pen
assembly as it
is
manufactured to close
tolerance for optimum performance.
3.
Slide
graph paper sheet under carriage rods (B) and
on to
drum
surface.
4.
Fasten top edge of paper to
drum
(C) with two or
three short
pieces
of cellophane tape.
