Ribbon Shield
1. Raise top cover of printer to gain access to type bar
and ribbon mechanisms.
2. Turn typebar motor switch to TYPEBAR REMOVAL
and remove type bar.
3. Turn platen positioning control (A) fully counter-
clockwise.
4. Raise print position indicator (B).
5. Lift ribbon spool from each ribbon drive. Save one
empty spool and discard the other with the ribbon.
6. Install new ribbon as shown at left.
7. Verify that leading end of ribbon is firmly hooked
onto empty spool and metal eyelet (C) on ribbon is
somewhere between spool
