The
Brush Assembly
Latch is used to facilitate removal and
insertion
of
con
trol
tapes.
Lifting on the latch releases the
brush assembly
and it
swings
forward
.
The carriage inter-
lock
light turns on when the
latch
is released and
the
type
-
bar
motor is running. The ready light is also turned off.
The
Tension
Lever
provides
tension on the six-to-eight
line
drive belt
and is
used when
switching from six to eight
or eight to six line spacing.
The
Hon'zontal
Print
Vernier is used to align forms in the
printer such that
printing
is aligned with previously
printed material.
The
forms tractor can be
positioned
to
the approximate
position
and
locked
to the guide. Final
adjustment is then made with the horizontal print vernier.
This control is capable of moving the forms
tractor a
maxi-
mum of 1/2 inch.
The Vertical
Print
Vernier is used to position forms such
that
printing
is in a straight line with previously printed
material.

The
Manual Clutch Knob
controls the carriage
tape
drive
and
tractor
mechanisms. With
the k
nob positioned at
OUT,
the form
tractor is
disengaged so forms do not move with
the
carriage.
With
the
knob positi oned at
IN
,
the form
tractor is engaged
and
fo rms move
in synchronization with
the carriage
.
The
Tractor Doors keep margi
nal-punched holes in the
forms
feeding properly on the carriage drive
pins.
One
Manual
Clutch
Knob
tractor
door
is
located
on each carriage tractor. Both
doors
open to allow insertion of forms.
The
Form
Guide Plates
help guide forms to
the
stacker
area
.
Each guide plate has a form check
switch,
which is
ac-
tua ted if the guide is lifted a small amount.
The
Print Position
Indicator is used to
loca te any
print
position on the printed line
