8. Operation

Operation Considerations

To use this chap ter, first de cide whether you will be
start ing and op er at ing the MHP13/35 / MHP15/44
V3 from the ground con trol box or the plat form con -
trol box.
Be gin at the sec tion en ti tled "Starting From Ground
Con trol Box", if you in tend to start and run the
MHP13/35 / MHP15/44 V3 from the ground sta tion.
Be gin at the sec tion en ti tled "Starting From Plat -
form Con trol Box", if you in tend to start and run the
MHP13/35 / MHP15/44 V3 from the plat form.

Stabiliser Operation

NOTE:
The sta bi lis ers will only func tion when the booms
are stowed. Once the booms are raised the sta bi -
lis ers will not op er ate.
Be fore op er at ing the sta bi lis ers check to see that
the ground con di tions un der the four (4) sta bi -
liser pads is firm, sta ble and un ob structed.
DANGER
If the platform is up and the ground
compresses unevenly under different
stabiliser pads the MHP might tip over
causing serious injury or death. Check the
level bubble frequently during operation. If
any movement of the bubble occurs,
immediately lower the platform and readjust
the stabilisers to re-center the bubble in the
ring
Al ways check that all four (4) feet are clear of man -
hole cov ers, drains etc., which may col lapse. If the
ground is at all soft, steel plates at least 300mm x
300mm x 6mm should be placed un der the feet to
spread the weight.
En sure the boom/sta bi liser switch (item
ground con trol box) (see Fig ure 8.5) is set to sta bi -
liser.
Ac ti vate the sta bi lis ers (see Fig ure 8.3) with the
valve le vers en sur ing that the front sta bi lis ers are
low ered first to pre vent dam age to the jockey
wheel.
Ac ti vate the rear sta bi lis ers and level the ma chine
us ing the level bub ble ad ja cent to the con trol le -
vers.

When levelling the machine in either the
manual or automatic mode care is required
to ensure that all of the foot plates are firmly
on the ground, the machine is level and the
lift enable light (item
8.4) is ON before entering the platform.

For units fit ted with self lev el ling sta bi lis ers the fol -
low ing ap plies.
1. Press and hold down the auto level switch
.
The sta bi lis ers will lower and the ma chine will
"level" au to mat i cally.
NOTE:
Switch
is also used to raise the sta bi lis ers to
the stowed po si tion. To do so press and hold
switch
in the auto stow di rec tion and all the
sta bi lis ers will raise au to mat i cally to the stowed
po si tion.
