4.13 Towing in case of an engine
failure
Danger
!
Secure the machine with wheel chocks against
unintentional rolling.
Danger
!
Danger of accident!
When using towing ropes tow the machine
only uphill.
When towing downhill you must use a rigid
towing device.
Secure the machine with wheel chocks
l
against unintentional rolling.
Attach the towing ropes safely to the front or
l
rear lifting eyes.
Caution
!
Towing speed 1 km/h, max. towing distance
500 m.
Open the tailgate.

Slacken the middle hexagon on both valves
l
(Fig. 59) for approx. 2 to 3 turns.

!
Do not turn the valves out completely.

To release the brake turn counter nuts 1 (Fig.

60) approx. 8 mm back.
Turn the brake releasing screws (2) complete-
l
ly in against the stop.
Caution
!
From this stop turn the screw in for maximum
another turn to release the brake!
Turn the screws in evenly on both sides.
Turn the screws in alternately for ¼ turn at a
l
time.
Repeat this measure on the opposite wheel
l
side.

Remove plug 1 (Fig. 61).

Place an U-section (5) across the brake hous-
l
ing (2) and turn the screw (4) into the tapped
bore (3), until it bottoms.
Turn the nut (6) down and tighten it approx.
l
one revolution. The drum must rotate freely.
