3.8 Weather timer / Sensor Control

If the function Weather timer (Husqvarna Automower®
315) or Sensor Control (GARDENA R130Li, R130LiC
and R160Li) is activated, the robotic lawnmower to
automatically adjust its mowing times based on how
quick the lawn grows. This is decided by continuously
measuring the restistance on the blade disc and
comparing that to a mean value. If the resistance is
higher than the mean value, the robotic lawnmower is
allowed to work for a longer time, and the other way
around. It takes a full day of mowing before the mean
value can be calculated, and during this time the weather
timer will not affect the mowing time. The mean value will
be reset if the mower has been turned off for more than
50 hours, if the settings are reset, or if the cutting height
is adjusted.
The manual timer settings will always have priority to
the weather timer. The weather timer will not make the
robotic lawnmower work more than the operating time set
with the timer settings, only less. The robotic lawnmower
will always perform at least one mowing cycle per day,
only after that may the mowing time be reduced by the
weather timer.

3.9 Safe operation on slopes

To achieve the best mowing results and operating safety
even when parts of the working area are sloping, the
mower adjusts its operation automatically depending on
factors such as the slope angle and travel direction.
The working area's incline can be expressed in various
ways. Table 2: Slope conditions, sets out the relationship
between the different ways of expressing slopes as a
percentage, height-length-ratio and in degrees.
The specified slope on which the robotic
lawnmower can work is 35 % for GARDENA
R130Li, R130LiC and R160Li and 40 % for
Husqvarna Automower® 310/315. Accessibility
on steeper slopes than this cannot be
guaranteed.
If the robotic lawnmower is travelling forwards
and the incline is more than 67% the mower
stops. It will then reverse and turn in one
movement to try to find a less steep slope. If
after two attempts the mower cannot find a less
steep slope, it stops and the display indicates
that the stop is caused by a steep incline.
The above values are approximate and require for
instance that the tilt sensor is correctly calibrated.
Slopes that exceed the specified 35 % for GARDENA
R130Li, R130LiC and R160Li and 40 % for Husqvarna
Automower® 310/315 slope can normally only be
reached in very favourable conditions. One should not
expect the mower to operate at all times in a working
area with such steep inclines.
