Setting a hot spare Hard Disk Drive
1. Install a Hard Disk Drive to be used as a hot spare drive, and then turn on the server.
2. Run the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility.
3. From the TOP menu, select Objects and then Physical Drive.
The Objects - PHYSICAL DRIVE SELECTION MENU screen appears.
4. Move the cursor to the Hard Disk Drive to be used as a hot spare drive, and then press the <Enter> key.
5. When the selection dialog box appears, select Make HotSpare.
6. When the confirmation message appears, select Yes.
Indication of the Hard Disk Drive specified as a hot spare drive changes to HOTSP.
Install a Hard Disk Drive
Run the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility
Set the Hard Disk Drive as a hot spare drive
Exit the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility
