Prepare calibration of the scales

Introduction
This section describes the requirements for operation requiring calibration and how to prepare
the scale verification.
The official verification officer will check, for example, the scales design and calibration-
relevant parameters with the help of the prototype test certificate of the electronic weighing
system.
For scales requiring official calibration, the following weighing modes (Page 53) of the
electronic weighing system are permitted:
● NAWI - Non automatic weighing instrument - in accordance with OIML R-76
● CWI - Catchweighing instrument in acc. with OIML R-51
● GFI - Gravimetric filling instrument in acc. with OIML R-61
● DTI - Discontinuous totalizing automatic weighing instruments in acc. with OIML R-107
● CW - Automatic check weigher in acc. with OIML R-51
Requirements
● You have coordinated the scales type with the conformity assessment body.
● You have a certificate of conformity which confirms that the load cell in combination with the
electronic weighing system meets the customer and legal requirements.
● You have ordered the calibration set (Page 161) and it is available. The calibration set
contains the labeling foil for the ID labels, the protective foil and the unlock protection.
● You have printed the ID labels for the scales and the calibratable main display on the
labeling foil.

● You have commissioned the scales.
● You have installed SIMATIC HMI or the computer so that it is visible from the scales.
