HARD STARTING OR STALLS AFTER STARTING
Possible Cause
Fast idle lever raised (remote control/side-mount type).
Throttle grip not in START position (tiller handle –
optional equipment).
Fuel hose not primed.
Fuel filter or fuel tank clogged.
Bad fuel; outboard motor stored without draining
gasoline, or refueled with bad fuel.
TAKING CARE OF UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS
Leave fast idle lever OFF (p.60).
Turn throttle grip to START position (p.68).
Squeeze priming bulb (p.58).
Replace fuel filters (p.111).
Drain fuel tank and vapor separator (p.121). Refill with
fresh gasoline (p.105).
