CLI Command Modes

Table B-1 lists the command modes, how to access each mode, the prompt you will see in
that mode, and how to exit that mode. The prompts listed assume the default name ATM.

Command Modes Summary
Access Method Prompt
Begin a session
ATM>
with the ATM
module.
From user EXEC
ATM#
mode, enter the
enable EXEC
command.
From privileged
ATM (config)#
EXEC mode,
enter the
configure
privileged EXEC
command.
From global
ATM (config-if)#
configuration
mode, specify an
interface by
entering the
interface
command.
Exit Method
Enter the logout command.
To exit to user EXEC mode,
enter the disable command.
To enter global configuration
mode, enter the configure
command.
To exit to privileged EXEC
mode, enter the exit or end
command, or press Ctrl-Z.
To enter interface configuration
mode, enter the interface
configuration command.
To exit to global configuration
mode, enter the end command.
To exit to privileged EXEC
mode, enter the exit command,
or press Ctrl-Z.
To enter subinterface
configuration mode, specify a
subinterface with the interface
command. On the ATM
module, the LANE client is
considered a subinterface.
