USB host interface

The printer is equipped with a USB host interface. A standard USB memory
device can be plugged into this interface and can then be used for firmware
download and config file up- and download. The USB device must be formatted
with FAT16 or FAT32 file system, other formats like NTFS are not supported. It is
strongly recommended to use an empty and newly formatted device; otherwise
the data transfer may not work. The firmware or config files for download must
always be located in the root directory! The format of the config files is the same
that is used when you up-/download the printer configuration via the webpanel or
via the config tool.

Firmware Download

This function will be activated by pressing key 1 during power on. The display
now shows USBH firm. down. and Insert USB stick. After a USB stick was
connected, the printer will search the root directory for a file with the extension
*.mot. If more than one file with this extension is found, the first one will be used.
If no file was found, the display will show no file found. After the download was
completed, the printer will reboot.

Configuration File Upload

This function will be activated by pressing key 2 during power on. The display will
now show upload cfg file. and Insert USB stick. After a USB stick was
connected, the printer will write the config file (extension *.cfg) to the USB stick.
The file name is the same as the firmware ID number. During the write time, the
display will show please wait. If the same file already exists, the display will show
cfg file exists and please delete it. Then the user should delete the file and try it
again. After the upload was completed, the printer will reboot.

Configuration File Download

The function will be activated by pressing key 3 during power on. The display will
now show "USBH cfg down." and "Insert USB stick". After a USB stick was
connected, the printer will search the root directory for a file with the extension
*.cfg. If more than one file with this extension is found, the first one will be used. If
no file was found, the display will show "no file found". You then have the chance
to remove the USB stick and try again, maybe with a different device. After the
download was completed, the printer will reboot.
