Serial interface

TheXTend vB RF Module interfaces to a host device through a TTL-level asynchronous serial port. Through
its serial port, the XTend vB RF Module can communicate with any UART voltage compatible device or
through a level translator to any serial device, for example: RS-232/485/422 or a USB interface board.

UART data flow

Devices that have a UART interface can connect directly to the pins of the XTend vB RF Module as the
following figure shows. The figure shows system data flow in a UART-interfaced environment. Low-
asserted signals have a horizontal line over the signal name.

When operating at 1 W power output, observe a minimum separation distance of 6 ft (2 m)
between devices. Transmitting in close proximity of other devices can damage the device's
front end.
