SYSTEM SETUP
CONTROLLER
The rear panel of the system controller has eight vertical slots. They are numbered 1 through 8
starting at the right side when facing the rear panel. See Figure 4. The standard system
controller contains interface and control boards that occupy four of the eight slots:
Slot 1 - Expansion Input/Output board (has interfaces for expansion cabinet and
optional remote control head).
Slot 2 - I5-pin female D-type connector for remote control signals.
Slot 5 - VGA Color Monitor Adapter (has interface for color monitor).
Slot 7 - Floppy/Hard Disk Controller SeriallParallel Interface Board.

The remaining slots are covered with blank panels. (Additional boards may be installed in these
four slots for special applications.)
NOTE
Make sure that all interface cables are secured with their
mounting screws. The most common source of trouble is poor
connections.
