in the filter basket.
The coffee powder has
been tamped with too
much pressure.
The seal in the group head
is worn out or damaged.

water, which is affecting
how the machine is desi-
gned to function.

or not inserted correctly.
The steam function is

The water system is still
on steam temperature.

perature gauge is above
100!C (at the right side
of the espresso icon). May

illuminated.
The coffee powder is too
fine.
Too much coffee powder
in the filter basket.
Die Lösung des Problems
Ensure that the tamped coffee powder in the filter basket
does not protrude the MAX marking. Scrape off surplus
coffee powder (see: 'Operation / Filling in Coffee Pow-
der'), then tamp the coffee powder and wipe the rim of
the portafilter and filter basket clean again.
Do not apply too much pressure when tamping the coffee
powder in the filter basket (see: 'Tips for Best Results').
Get in contact with an authorized service centre for exa-
mination and repair. Do not poke in the group
head with any hard or sharp-edged objects.
We recommend using cold tap water or low-mineral bottled
water. Do not use de-mineralized or highly filtered water. If
the problem persists, contact an authorized service centre.
Fill a sufficient amount of water into the water tank (at
least 250ml). Do not let the machine pump the water
tank completely empty. Push the water tank down at the
back of the appliance until the water tank lid levels up
with the top of the appliance (see: 'Operation / Filling
the Water Tank').
Ensure that the steam button is level with the power but-
ton and the espresso indicator is illuminated.
For producing steam, the appliance heats the water sys-
tem to the significantly higher steam temperature. You
need to manually cool down the water system, before
extraction (see: 'Operation / Cooling Down to Extraction
Temperature').
Only use coffee powder suited for espresso machines
(see: 'Tips for Best Results').
Ensure that the tamped coffee powder does not protru-
de the MAX marking at the side wall of the filter basket
(see: 'Operation / Filling in Coffee Powder').
