ADJUSTMENTS BEFORE OPERATION

Power
Turning the unit on
Press POWER 6 STANDBY/ON (POWER on the remote
control).
Alternatively, press TAPE l, CD E or MD E. Playback
will start automatically if a disc or tape is loaded.
Pressing TUNER/BAND or AUX/USB also turns the unit on.
Turning the unit off
Press POWER 6STANDBY/ON again.
The unit goes into standby.

Adjusting the display window
brightness
The display window brightness can be adjusted to the following
four levels: "DIMMER OFF", "DIMMER 1", "DIMMER 2"and
"DIMMER 3".
"DIMMER OFF" is the brightest level.
1 Press JOG MODE repeatedly until "DIMMER" is
displayed.
2 Within 6 seconds, turn MULTI JOG to select the
desired brightness level.
3 Within 6 seconds, press MULTI JOG.
On the remote control, hold down SHIFT and press DIMMER
repeatedly.
Setting the clock
Carry out the procedures below when the power is off.
1 Hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK on the remote
control.
2 Press f or g to set the time.
Holding these buttons down will vary the time in 10-
minute units.
•Turning MULTI JOG on the main unit is also available
to set the time.
3 Press ENTER on the remote control (MULTI JOG
on the main unit).
To reset the clock while the power is on
To reset the clock which have been set before while the power
is on, hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK twice on the remote
control, and then follow step 2 and 3 above.
To display the timer while the power is on
Hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK on the remote control.
The time will be displayed for 6 seconds, but it cannot be
displayed during recording.
To switch to the 24-hour standard
When the power is off, hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK
on the remote control, press s, and then press ENTER on
the remote control.
While the power is on, hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK
twice on the remote control, press s, and then press ENTER
on the remote control.
In the 12-hour standard, "AM 12:00" indicates midnight
and "PM 12:00" noon.
If the clock display flashes when the unit is turned
off
There has been a power interruption. Reset the clock.
