Registering the track title
You can register the titles of the tracks.
1 Press MD E to select the MD function and
insert an MD.
2 Press f or g (numbered buttons on the
remote control) to select the track you want to
En
register a title for, or play back the track.
3 When selecting the track within a group:
1 Press EDIT twice so that "Track Edit" is displayed,
then press MULTI JOG (ENTER on the remote control)
within 6 seconds.
2 Press EDIT so that "T.Title?" is displayed, and press
MULTI JOG within 6 seconds..
When playing the track or selecting the track not
belonging to any group:
Press EDIT so that "T.Title?" is displayed, and press
MULTI JOG within 6 seconds.
4 Follow the steps 4 to 8 in "Registering the disc
title" on page 26.
When registering a title while playing the track, press s
to stop play after pressing MULTI JOG in step 7.
Registering the track title during recording
1 Press EDIT so that "T.Title?" is displayed.
2 Turn MULTI JOG or press f,g to select the track
and press MULTI JOG within 6 seconds.
3 Follow steps 4 to 7 in "Registering the disc title" on page
26.
•During recording, you can register up to 20 track titles.
•The total number of characters that can be entered is
approximately 200.

Erasing a track title
You can erase a track title. If you erase a track title, "LP:",
which is automatically registered as a track title when the track
is recorded in LP2 or LP4 mode, will also be erased.
1 Press MD E to select the MD function and
insert an MD.
2 Press f or g (numbered buttons on the
remote control) to select the track whose title you
want to erase, or play back the track.
3 When selecting the track within a group:
1 Press EDIT twice so that "Track Edit" is displayed,
then press MULTI JOG (ENTER on the remote control)
within 6 seconds.
2 Press EDIT repeatedly until "Title Er?" is displayed,
and press MULTI JOG within 6 seconds.
When playing the track or selecting the track not
belonging to any group:
Press EDIT repeatedly until "Title Er?" is displayed, and
press MULTI JOG within 6 seconds
"Title Er??" is displayed.
To cancel, press s.
4 Within 1 minute, press MULTI JOG.
"EDITING" first, and then "Complete" is displayed.
•When the track title is erased during play, press s to
stop play.
5 Remove the disc.
"WRITING" flashes and the data concerning the contents
of the editing are registered.
Note on disc/track/group title
When entering a disc or group title, do not use a character
string such as "//xxx;" ("//BEATLES;", for example). If such
character string is used, information concerning the group
and track structure may not be recognized by the unit correctly.
If MDs with groups are played on other equipment
If you play an MD on which you create groups on other
equipment that does not support groups, a very long disc
title will be displayed. This long title determines group
and track structure on the disc. Therefore, if you modify
this title, the disc's group and track structure will no longer
be recognized by this unit.
In this case, if you correct the disc title to conform to the
rule (syntax), this unit will be able to recognize the group
and track structure. See page 43 for details.
