Digital recording
Synchronized digital recording of a CD onto an MD can be
done either at normal or double speed.
•Set the auto grouping mode to ON/OFF before recording.
(See page 19.)
1 Insert a recordable MD.
Insert a disc fully into the disc insertion slot with the label
side up and in the direction of the arrow.

2 Press CD E to select the CD function and load
a CD to be recorded.
To record only one track, start play of the track.
3 Press SP/LP repeatedly to select the recording
mode.
- "SP" : standard length stereo recording mode
- "LP2" : two times longer stereo recording
- "LP4" : four times longer stereo recording
4 Press CD SYNCHRO REC SEL (REC SEL on the
remote control) to select recording speed.
- "CDlMD X1" : to record at normal speed
- "CDlMD X2" : to record at double speed
5 Within 6 seconds, press REC START (REC/REC
PAUSE on the remote control).
Recording starts.
When only a track is to be recorded, CD playing returns
to the beginning of the current track and recording starts.
Recording stops automatically when the CD finishes
playing.
When recording stops, "WRITING" flashes and the
contents (TOC) of the recording are recorded on the MD.
•When only one track is recorded at the normal speed,
CD continues to play. To stop play, press s.
Note
While "WRITING" is displayed, do not disconnect the AC
cord or give a strong shock to the unit. Otherwise, the recorded
contents on a disc will not be able to be played.
To stop recording
Press s.
To stop play of the CD, press s again.
