Analog recording
Recording through analog inputs from the tuner, cassette tape,
CD, external equipment connected to AUX IN jacks, or a personal
computer connected to USB terminal can be made easily.
You can also select monaural recording.
•Set the auto grouping mode to ON/OFF before recording.

1 Insert a recordable MD.
2 Prepare the source to be recorded.
To record from a tape, press TAPE l to select the TAPE
function, then insert the tape.
To record a radio broadcast, press TUNER/BAND to select
the band and tune in a desired station.
To record from a CD, press CD E to select the CD
function and load a CD.
To record from external equipment connected to AUX IN
jacks, press AUX/USB to select the AUX function.
To record from the personal computer connected to USB
terminal, press AUX/USB to select the USB function.
3 Press SP/LP repeatedly to select the recording
mode.
- "SP" : standard length stereo recording mode
- "LP2" : two times longer stereo recording
- "LP4" : four times longer stereo recording
- "MONO" : monaural recording
4 Press REC SEL to display "REC MD", then within
6 seconds, press REC START (REC/REC PAUSE
on the remote control).
The unit enters recording pause mode.

5 Press REC START.
Recording starts.
When recording from the connected equipment or
personal computer, manually start playback of the source.
To pause recording
Press REC START (REC/REC PAUSE on the remote control).
To resume recording, press again.
To stop recording
Press s.
To add index marks during recording
Press MULTI JOG (ENTER on the remote control).
Tips:
•Using the monaural recording mode, you can record twice
as long as the time printed on the MD.
•When recording from a CD to an MD is made using analog
recording, CD digital signals are once converted to analog
signals, and the converted signals are recorded on an MD
in digital form.
Note
Volume and tone adjustment does not affect recording.
Programmed recording of a CD onto
an MD
1 Insert a recordable MD.
2 Press CD E to select the CD function and load
a CD .
3 Program the desired tracks.
Follow steps 1 to 3 on page 11.
4 Press SP/LP repeatedly to select the recording
mode.
- "SP" : standard length stereo recording mode
- "LP2" : two times longer stereo recording
- "LP4" : four times longer stereo recording
5 Press CD SYNCHRO REC SEL (REC SEL on the
remote control) to select recording speed.
- "CDlMD X1" : to record at normal speed
- "CDlMD X2" : to record at double speed
6 Within 8 seconds, press REC START (REC/REC
PAUSE on the remote control).
Recording starts.
