Inserting a Graphite Tube

To insert a graphite tube:

Some operators may find it easier to tilt the furnace when inserting a graphite
NOTE
tube. However it is possible to carry out this procedure without tilting the
furnace. If you are going to tilt the furnace, the PSD must first be removed.

Handle graphite tubes with care and only in a clean working environment.

If you are using a Zeeman graphite furnace, tilt the furnace
assembly forward to access the top of the furnace.
Open the furnace and insert the graphite tube into the furnace
taking care to ensure the injection hole is on top.
