To avoid cracking the electrode, do not over-tighten the nut. As soon as you feel

Zeeman Electrode Removal

You will need:


Powder free nitrile (or fabric) gloves should be used.

Put the pressure plate and PTFE washer on the bolt, and thread
the knurled nut onto the bolt. Using the wrench provided, screw
the nut onto the bolt until the assembly is held in position. The
shouldered face of the pressure plate fits into the window side of
the electrode housing.
Using the tool provided screw the nut until the electrode is
pulled squarely into the housing.
Unscrew the nut from the bolt and carefully remove the tooling.
Replace the window in the electrode housing.
Repeat Steps 1 to 8 for the right-hand electrode.

twist the tubes. Make sure neither tube is wedged between the
plates below the cooling block.
