VERVIEW
This chapter describes the ATM Interface Module and presents the basic
configurations that are available.
The ATM Interface Module interfaces with the ATM Switch Fabric Module
to create the ATM Enterprise Switch system. You can order the ATM
Interface Module in several configurations, according to your specific
needs.
A typical Interface Module configuration comprises:

An ATM Interface Module that is an unpopulated dual-subslot
dual-channel carrier module.

One or two OC-3c/STM-1 four-port ATM Interface daughter card(s)
that can be either single-mode or multi-mode. The OC-3c/STM-1 card
is also available in three port multi-mode and two port single-mode
long reach.

One or two OC-12c/STM-4 one-port ATM Interface daughter card(s)
that can be either single-mode or multi-mode.

One or two 155 Mbps-over-UTP5 four-port ATM Interface daughter
card(s).
You can order all these components separately and arrange them as
required. The daughter card part numbers are presented in Appendix B of
the ATM Interface Module User Guide . Table 3 shows the combinations
that are available without the part numbers.
