Alternative method - IaltEq
Do not touch exposed conductive parts of the tested appliance while
measurement is in progress – RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
The test voltage is max. 230 V, and the short circuit current is ap-
proximately 1.5 mA.
Leakage current measurement is also possible if the REVEXmax is
connected to the IT mains.
4.5.1
Protective class I appliances
Procedure:
Press the [1 I
Connect the appliance for testing:
– For a one-phase appliance with a movable power supply cord – plug in
its mains plug to Test Socket 1.
– For a three-phase appliance with movable power supply cord – connect
the PE pin of its plug to the instrument's PE terminal by means of
the optional test lead + crocodile clip. Then connect the remaining
current-carrying conductors by means of the test lead + test tip to the
instrument's R
– For a hard-wired appliance – first disconnect the appliance from
the mains! Connect the point of the PE connection to the instrument's
PE terminal by means of the optional test lead + crocodile clip. Then
connect the remaining current-carrying conductors by means of the test
lead + test tip to the instrument's R
Switch on tested appliance's mains switch.
Press the [TEST] key.
The last measured value is displayed after finishing the measurement.
Switch off the tested appliance's mains switch.

Protective class II appliances - alternative touch leakage current
Procedure:
Press the [1 I
Connect the tested appliance: plug in its mains plug into Test Socket 1.
Plug the test lead into the PE terminal.
Switch on tested appliance's mains switch.
Press the [TEST] key.
Press the test tip against the exposed conductive part of the tested appliance.
The last measured value is displayed after finishing the measurement.
Switch off the tested appliance's mains switch.
